PTFE shock pistons
Purpose of this test:
to determine the friction for PTFE banded piston when adding
different weights. The test is performed with a constant lateral
force applied to the piston during the pressure build up over the
piston. Automatically get the average friction after testing five
1. Put the testing tube into shock absorber oil to assure the oil
in the ID of the tube.
2. Fix the piston into the piston rod
3. Put the piston rod and testing tube into the working cylinder
4. Turn on the power and adjust to automatic mode
5. Open the software, set the following parameters:
6. Click button of alternating motion to test the machine fixtures.
To confirm friction level is right and oil distributes well in ID
7. Don’t add the weights to confirm the fixtures at the initial
place and make zero for the data.
8. Click button of alternating motion, piston will be moving at the
stroke of ± 30mm with 5 cycles.
9. Add the weights of 7.5Kg, 15Kg, 22.5Kg, 45Kg, do the same
testing as step above, record the data and curves.
10. Stop the testing, take down the weights and turn off the power.
